What Payments Gateways are supported by LightSpeed eCommerce 3.0?

A payment gateway is an e-commerce application provider service that authorizes payments for e-businesses and online retailers.

It is the connection between your LightSpeed web store and your credit card processor.

A payment gateway protects credit card details by encrypting sensitive information, such as credit card numbers, to ensure that information passes securely between the customer and the merchant and also between merchant and payment processor.

If you operate a site that sells online you will need to sign up with a Gateway provider to process credit cards online.  Even if you have signed up with a credit card processor for your in-store LightSpeed Point of Sale, you will need to sign up a for a second account for online transactions. Card present transactions and Card Not Present transactions must be processed through different payment gateway accounts.

Free Payment Gateway Providers

Certain providers like Authorize.net will charge monthly fees to sign-up for a Gateway service.  Other providers will include the gateway free of charge.
