  • Editing a Theme in eCom

    If you're using a theme you've purchased from the eCom marketplace, it is possible to edit the theme, but doing so will remove the theme from it's update cycle, so you should be sure you're aware of the implications before editing the theme.

    What is an "update cycle"?

    Themes in eCom can be automatically updated by the theme's developer.  Developer's often release updates to themes to fix bugs, improve security or add on functionality.  If you edit your theme in eCom, it makes a copy of theme code in your site so you can customize it as you want, but

  • How does a Custom Payment Integration work in Lightspeed eCom?

    Custom payment integrations for eCom are built and hosted in our external app framework.  The payment option is integrated with your site's eCom checkout to allow the customer to select the custom payment option in checkout, and if selected, when the user clicks the "Buy" button on the last page of eCom checkout, they are then forwarded to our system's payment page to complete payment.  Once payment is completed, the user is then sent back to their eCom order receipt. 

    With some payment integrations, status of payment is not immediately known, in which case our system will continue to communicate

  • What are Product Browsing Filters?

    We can setup filters for customers to use while browsing (by brands, colour, size, price, availability, etc.) using our Query Rewrite fo Lightpeed, AdVision AE web store platforms.

    Once installed, product browsing filters can be found in AE admin under Catalog>>Products>>Filters.  Here you can create new filters and determine where (which categories, search) they show in your webstore(s).

    To create your first filter, click “Create a New Filter”.  In the form that loads, fill in the following fields:

  • What is the Brands add-on functionality?

    Its is a self administer module that allows you to display the list of Brands/Designers on your webstore (listed as Families on LS POS).

    It can be displayed in 2 ways. Either you can display them as list of Brands as in:

  • What is a Data Feed Module?

    Using the product data uploaded to the web store, this information can be fed via 3rd party API's to external web stores such as Google Merchant, Amazon.

  • What is AE Gift Card module and how it works?

    With Gift Card module, you can setup and sell Gift Card products, each with a unique gift card code. The gift card can later be used to discount/pay for future orders.

    Custom monetary values, expiration dates and unique security pins can be created and sold online.

    Speak with AE Sales to purchase the gift card module. Once gift card module is installed, you can begin managing your gift cards under Customers>>Gift Cards in AE Admin.

  • What is HomePage module and how it works?

    Its a self administered Manage module which allows you to select a template for your homepage, upload images/text and also manage the meta text. You can also link the images to any page from the webstore. We can also make arrangements to upload videos to a section of the homepage.

    You can select any template from the pre-designed templates by AdVision or we can custom create a template that to suit your needs. The templates range from single image to multi-images to full width.

  • Can I show one product in more than one category on the web store with Multi-Product Category?

    Yes, we have a add on module that allows you to read one product set up in the point-of-sale and shared across numerous web categories.

  • What is supporting files module?

    The supporting files add-on installed on your web store allows you to add PDF documents or audio files snippets (listen) to any given product within your web store to support the information initially presented on the product page. This allows for much more expanded documentation to be attached to a product and downloaded for review through the main product view page, without having to purchase the product.

  • How does an Image Override Module works?

    By Default LightSpeed allows one kind of orientation of product images in the web store. It means that you specify in LS admin the dimension of the product and that will be set for entire webstore. So either you have all product images to be wither vertical or square or horizontal but not mix the dimensions. 

    But if you have tall boots (vertical image) as well as sandals (horizontal images) in your webstore to sell, Image override module helps to overwrite this default setting of LS. This feature requires zoom module to be installed.

  • How can I manage the images for Banner / Letterbox?

    Yes, with this module installed, each and every time you create web category, you will be able to upload a set sized image to appear above the thumbnail previews that show up when a category is selected. This will allow you to set the theme/mood of the category.

  • What is the look book module and how its is managed from backend?

    With lookbook module you can upload large images that contain multiple products and then 'polygon map' the individual products within an image so they can link to their respective pages.

  • What is Live chat module?

    The live chat module, is a third-party installation of their live chat pop-up. Just sign up with any 3rd party and forward us their code and we can install and stylized as necessary the chat window to work with the design. The live chat functionality, allows you to make yourself available or off-line as and when necessary.

    AdVision can install any third-party Live Chat functionality for your web store. All chat communications are logged and administered through your Live Chat account with  the third-party live chat company you have signed up with.

  • What is color swatch module and is this module compatibale with lightspeed retail?

    Yes, the color swatch module is compatible with the input point-of-sale [LightSpeed]. It reads the color options prepared within the POS and then makes them available through our color swatch module administration area, for you to be able to access and add to each and every color option a specific colored swatch [small image] for reference when your viewer is visiting the main product page.

    Color swatch is a module which allows color options to display as swatches rather than a default matrix dropdown. This module works off the zoom module. There are 2 ways to work with the module:

  • Can I filter the comments on product rating before they broadcast to the webstore?

    Yes, you can filter the comments customers post using product rating before they broadcast to the web store. The module can also be set not to moderate, but we don't recommend that..

    Yes, AdVision can build in new shipping rate APIs upon request. if there is any third-party shipper that you would like and/or a unique configuration, please forward us the shippers API documentation and an outline of what you are hoping to achieve and we can assess.

  • What is PCI Compliant Authorize/ Capture management?

    PCI Compliant Authorize/Capture is a built in support for authorize, capture, void and refund actions using Authorize.net and Authorize.net Customer Information Manager for PCI compliant credit card storage (making repeat purchases easier for your customers) + the ability to build in new payment gateway APIs upon request.

    It integrates with Authorize.net's CIM (Customer Information Management) feature to allow PCI compliant storage of credit card information allowing customers to more quickly and easily place future orders. (requires Authorize.net account). Once installed, you can manage customer’s CIM profiles via Settings>>Payments>>CIM Profiles in AE admin.

  • What is Newsletter New Visitor Prompt Module?

    In the footer of your web store, we generally will add the newsletter sign-up form. We can install a newsletter module that would allow a newsletter popup on a first visit to the webstore. We can customize the look of that popup.

    For the module, you would need to have an account with a third-party newsletter service provider lilke Mail Chimp, Constat Contact etc.

  • What languages are available in Multi languages module?

    Any language that is based on the Latin keyboard is compatible with our web stores. If you have other languages that are character based, just let us know and we can advise. In the vast majority of cases, most languages can be installed. The translations for all references throughout the web store are provided by the client, this is not an auto translating module. The primary reasoning for this, is that auto translating at this time is not a technology that can be relied upon for a web store.
