  • Section 5 — What Happens Automatically vs. Manually

CatalogPilot is intentionally designed to do the heavy lifting automatically while keeping human approval and control at clear decision points.

Understanding this separation is key to using the system confidently.

    What Happens Automatically

    CatalogPilot automatically handles the following:

    • Catalog synchronization Reads products, variants, images, categories, and related metadata from your platform using read-only access.
    • Contextual analysis Observes public storefront structure to understand how content is presented to visitors and crawlers.
    • Enrichment generation Produces structured metadata, accessibility text, variant mappings, category signals, and AI-ready attributes off-platform.
    • Batch processing & scaling Queues, throttles, and processes enrichments safely in the background without affecting
  • Section 25 — Category: ESG

The Category ESG tab allows merchants to optionally associate ethical, sustainability, and suitability signals with an entire product category.

This section is supplementary, not required, and is designed primarily for machine-readable interpretation rather than direct customer-facing content.

Purpose of the Category ESG Tab

The Category ESG tab exists to:

    • Attach high-level ethical or suitability indicators to categories
    • Support future ESG-aware search, filtering, and AI discovery
    • Provide structured context for platforms, marketplaces, and compliance systems

These fields are not required for successful enrichment or delivery.

    Available Fields

Depending on category type, the following ESG-related fields may appear:

    • Minimum Age Indicates an
  • Section 13 — SEO Tab (Search & Structured Data)

The SEO tab displays and manages all search-engine–focused metadata generated by CatalogPilot for a product. This information is machine-read first, designed primarily for search engines, shopping engines, and AI crawlers rather than human visitors.

Most merchants will review this tab briefly and rarely need to edit it.

    What the SEO Tab Controls

The SEO tab includes the following fields:

    • Meta Title
    • Meta Description
    • Meta Keywords
    • H1
    • H2
    • H3
    • Source URL
    • Canonical URL
    • JSON-LD (Structured Data)

Together, these fields define how the product is interpreted, indexed, and ranked by search engines and AI systems.

  • How do I fix a product that is showing the wrong image?

It is important to understand that all data and images on the web store come from your LightSpeed Point of Sale. If you have data or image issues that do not match what is in your LightSpeed Point of Sale, you will need to solve the problem by using LightSpeed Point of Sale.

Usually when a product is showing the incorrect image, you can delete the images from your LightSpeed Point of Sale, reload them and the update your store again. Sometimes this process does not always work. You try to correct the image or the data in LightSpeed Point of

  • Is it required that my AdVision eCommerce system connect to a separate point-of-sale or inventory management system?

No, it is not required.  AdVision eCommerce is built as a standalone system that can both manage your catalog and process/manage online orders.  It also contains basic inventory management features.

However, many of our clients do require a more advanced inventory management system and/or point-of-sale application for their brick-and-mortar store.  To this end, AdVision eCommerce does currently support several POS/inventory management systems and is always open to connecting with new/additional systems in the future.

If you have added other interface languages to your back office, the language row will be expanded with them. For example, for France you will see FR_Title_short.

  • Cloud-Based eCommerce Shift

Online retailers are moving away from cloud-based e-commerce platforms to gain greater control over their storefronts and data. This shift is driven by the need for enhanced customization, data sovereignty, and privacy.

Why Shift Away from Cloud-Based eCommerce?

    1. Customization and Brand Identity: Cloud platforms limit design and functionality customization. Retailers seek unique shopping experiences that reflect their brand identity.
    2. Data Control and Privacy: Retailers want better data management to ensure privacy and comply with regulations like GDPR and CCPA.
    3. Performance and Reliability: Shared cloud resources can cause performance issues. Alternative solutions offer better control over uptime and loading times.

    Catalog

Your product catalog as it exists on your eCommerce platform (products, categories, variants, images, prices, availability).

A secure, read-only copy of your catalog created via API connection.

    This copy:

    • Lives outside your platform
    • Is used for enrichment, validation, and delivery

    • Establish a high-level semantic identity for a category
    • Support AI assistants, conversational search, and generative discovery

  • Section 14 — Attributes Tab

    Purpose of the Attributes Tab

The Attributes tab contains structured, machine-readable product attributes used primarily by search engines, shopping platforms, and automated discovery systems (such as Google Shopping, structured search, and AI-based crawlers).

Unlike the Product tab (which is human-facing) and the Gallery (which provides a comparative overview), the Attributes tab exists to ensure semantic accuracy, classification correctness, and eligibility for external indexing systems.

This tab is not designed for heavy manual editing and should be treated as a verification and exception-handling interface, not a content-creation workspace.
